Global inflation hits families living in poverty hardest

In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the war between Russia and Ukraine, along with other economic factors, global inflation has risen steadily. But nowhere has the higher cost of living been felt more than among individuals who were already living in poverty. This two-part series introduces you to the struggles of some of these families during this time, details how Unbound staff are helping them cope and offers ways that you can help as well.

Jaqueline is the mother of 10-year-old sponsored child Wendy in Guatemala. Her family is participating in Poverty Stoplight, a new methodology being implemented in Unbound programs.
