Content Curator/Copywriter

Unbound is seeking to enable meaningful change in the world and we need an experienced Content Curator/Copywriter to help us. This role works alongside, and is part of, our talented Marketing and Communications team in our Growth and Revenue Development Department. This role will actively partner with team members and stakeholders in the department and across the organization, both domestically and internationally.

The Content Curator/Copywriter’s primary responsibility is to review, organize, categorize, write and edit content, following Unbound’s core values, brand, and ethics and best practices of the marketing and communications profession. This individual is responsible for organizing assets — photos, video, audio, interview transcripts and information — developed internally and promoting their use for the Unbound website, digital and print marketing and communications, social media and publications, in addition to pitching ideas for content development.

The Content Curator/Copywriter will play an important role in in helping to implement content strategies ensuring the effectiveness, quality and consistency of the organization’s presence on internal and external platforms, while adhering to established Unbound brand standards and guidelines. In addition, this individual will play an important role in facilitating access to licensed assets and channeling those assets to third-party content distributors — publishers, partners, bloggers, researchers and others — for their use.

This is a full-time position that can function remotely within the US or in our Kansas City, KS office. Unbound will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

Qualifications: At least three years professional experience in content curation, copywriting and/or editing, or equivalent related experience and/or training required.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical skills and familiarity with digital asset management, web (content management systems) and/or email marketing platforms.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate about technical matters in layperson’s terms, as well as clearly articulate thoughts, vision and direction.
  • Strong storytelling skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to take direction, work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to work in collaboration with marketing colleagues, international staff, content creators and technical team members.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications or a related field from a four-year college/university is preferred, or equivalent related training.
  • Spanish-language skills a plus.
